Brazil’s Credit Card Rates Climb to 450%, a Six-Year High
Gold is +1600% vs Brazilian real since 1999
Average housing in Brazil is +300% the past 15 yrs, gold +700%
Headline: The Debt Ceiling "Crisis" Is Over And Now US Debt Will Rise From $31 Trillion To $50 Trillion By 2030
“Inflation” is political double-speak for currency devaluation.
Gold is the solution to preserving your purchasing power.
Owning scarce commodities crucial to human existence is a good idea too.
My scoring system’s explained here.
6. Uranium
Quoting last uranium comments, from March 19:
The chart for uranium could not look better. It’s arguably crazy not to be invested in it, and totally irresponsible not to crank up the exposure when the timing’s right.
URA i0 m0, broken 15-month down trend, super bullish > $22
ANLDF long term bullish entry signal in effect, but only buy > 7.5c
DNN technical “strong buy” above $1.35
UEC i0 m0 = wait. For long term investing we want m1 at minimum
UROY not yet at an ideal entry/add point
U.U i2 m0 = long term bullish, not an ideal entry/add point however
SMR bearish possibly turning bullish, ideally wait before entry or add
Keep an eye on Lightbridge too. I’ve been accumulating in expectation of enjoying its next parabolic advance. Ah, the enriching beauty of a good company with a minuscule float in a highly volatile and cyclical sector.
I’ll keep adding LTBR periodically below $5. Above $5 I expect it to skyrocket.
Today uranium looks fantastic.
Revised stats and entry levels:
URA i3 m1, broken 15-month down trend, super bullish now at $21.31
ANLDF long term bullish entry signal in effect, best buy > 5.5c
DNN technical “strong buy” above $1.25
UROY technical “strong buy” above $2.25
U.U i3 m1 = long term bullish, at an ideal entry/add point
I’m still adding LTBR periodically below $5.00
8. Dividends (and oil)
Quoting most recent oil and dividends comments, also from March 19:
DVN slow accumulation, still not an ideal entry point for full positions.
Oil tumbling to a 52-week low negates any previous bullish setups.
Patience will pay.
MO slow accumulation, not yet an ideal entry point for full positions.
QRTEP is the ticker for Qurate’s 8% preferred shares. QRTEP’s dividend is about 22% based on last week’s close, still at a good entry point for full long term positions.
Updated comments:
DVN i1 m0.
I’ll add a full “official” position for this dividends (and oil) “one and done” when DVN - Devon Energy crosses above $50.20
No stop.
It closed the week at $48.53, currently paying a dividend of 8.72%
MO - Altria closed at $45.33, paying an 8.3% dividend yield.
QRTEP’s 25% yield underscores its relatively very high risk. Expect the yield and the stock to drop considerably if - when - there’s a recession. Perhaps even if there isn’t a recession.
Devon and Altria can be called investments, Qurate a speculation.
Minnesota governor signs bill legalizing recreational marijuana starting in August
Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz signed a bill Tuesday to legalize recreational marijuana for people over the age of 21 starting in August, making Minnesota the 23rd state to legalize the substance for adults.
“This has been a long journey with a lot of folks involved,” Walz said.
Among them was one of the first governors in the U.S. to openly support marijuana legalization.
“For me personally, it’s very wonderful to see a dream of yours over 20 years ago finally happen today, and I’m still alive to see it,” said Jesse Ventura, Minnesota’s governor from 1999-2003.
The only surprise is it took this long: Dogecoin Investors’ Class Action Lawsuit Now Accuses Elon Musk of Insider Trading
The amended lawsuit now alleges Elon Musk has engaged in market manipulation and securities fraud related to Dogecoin.
Investors contend that Musk leveraged his substantial social media following on Twitter and his public appearances, such as hosting NBC’s Saturday Night Live in May 2021, to profit from DOGE trades through what they describe as "transparent cryptocurrency market manipulation."
The filing lists a long string of other examples, which the plaintiffs claim to be instances of market manipulation.
Here’s a Dogecoin chart with arrow pointing to the exact minute Musk was on Saturday Night Live touting it. It’s lost 90% of its “value” in the 2 years since.
